Tara lui Gufi

by dev on Feb.14, 2010, under Art

“Gufi’s Country”

  • Gufi – king in the Land of the Blind, pretends to be blind as all his servants
  • Lulu – jester; can see with one eye and mocks his king for keeping his kingdom in blindness
  • Iola – kings’s daughter; must get married and take the pesky buffoon off the king’s head
  • Robderoua – hero, saves the day by bringing the colors back in the castle, fucks the bride

Overall the play was AWESOME! :D Bravo to all puppeteers once again and many thanks to Matasari 17 for hosting this.

Even though it’s just a kid’s story, in front of a mature audience it brings shaded everyday questions to light. Like ‘am I really who I am or am I just societies puppet’. Of course, it all goes away after a beer or two but that moment, that moment  of incertitude still itches a blind spot in our mind.

Music by Stars – “The Night Starts Here”

The night starts here, the night starts here, forget your name, forget your fear
The night starts here, the night starts here, forget your name, forget your fear

The pleasure part, the afterthought, the missing stone in the graveyard
The time we have, the task at hand, the love it takes to become a man
The dust at dawn is rained upon, attaches itself to everyone
No one is spared, no one is clean
It travels places you’ve never been or seen before

The night starts here, forget your name, forget your fear
You drop a coin into the sea, and shout out “Please come back to me”
You name your child after your fear, and tell them “I have brought you here”

The scary part, the aftershock, the moment it takes to fall apart
The time we have, the task at hand, the love it takes to destroy a man
The ecstasy, the being free, the big black cloud over you and me
And after that, the upwards fall, and were we angels after all?
I don’t know, I don’t know

The night starts here, the night starts here, forget your name, forget your fear
The night starts here, the night starts here, forget your name, forget your fear
You drop a coin into the sea, and shout out “Please come back to me”
You name your child after your fear, and tell them “I have brought you here”

The night starts here
