God’s Stone Quarry

In the search for the best way to reveal the social struggles in Northern Bohemia, a land cursed with open pit coal mines, this film unintentionally goes further and stops half-way to discovering the “root of all evil”: man himself. It’s amazing to see how people open their heart in front of the camera. I loved the eloquent discourses held by all characters, the simplicity of their philosophy, emerging from real life experience.
